Imagery Mapping Service for Variable Rate Application

GK Mapping Services · Imagery Mapping

Imagery mapping that turns into variable rate application maps.

Skip the software learning curve. GK merges your imagery, yield maps, and soil data into management zones, then writes the fertilizer and seeding maps for your equipment.

What you get

The right rate, zone by zone.

Imagery mapping uses one or more sources to define zones within your field. Working with you, GK defines those zones and writes the application maps for your equipment.

Management zones

GK algorithms merge your input maps into zones: imagery, UAV data, yield maps, Veris maps, grid soil samples, grower defined areas, and soils maps.

Variable rate fertilizing

N-P-K, micronutrients, lime, or manure. Zones are typically set to 3 to 5 for soil sampling, with a yield goal for each zone.

Variable rate seeding

Variable rate or variable variety seeding, set to hard breaks such as 1,000 seed increments or fully interpolated.

The deliverables

From zones to application maps.

Real GK variable rate output for one field, from the management zones to the product maps and the summary printout.

Why GK

35+ yrsIn precision ag
US & CanadaWhere GK works
48 to 72 hrsTypical map turnaround

Used by farmers, contractors, and consultants across the US and Canada, with variable rate maps written for the equipment you run.

How it works

From input maps to the applicator.

1

Gather input maps

Satellite or aerial images, UAV stitched data, yield maps, Veris maps, grid soil samples, grower defined areas, or soils maps.

2

GK builds the zones

The input data is merged with GK algorithms into management zones, typically 3 to 5 for soil sampling.

3

Set the rates

Soil test results and yield goals are set for each zone, or seeding rates once the zones are established.

4

Maps sent out

Variable rate maps are created and sent for application or seeding, most within 48 to 72 hours.

GK recommends zone and grid soil sampling for variable rate fertilizer and lime, and yield mapping before variable rate seeding. Most mapping is turned around in 48 to 72 hours. A minimum field size applies. GK does not provide soil sampling, product application, or seeding, and can help you find equipment and service providers if you ask. All prices are subject to change.

Questions

Common questions.

Satellite or aerial images, UAV stitched data, yield maps, Veris maps, grid soil samples, grower defined areas, and soils maps, alone or in combination.

Fertilizing, including N-P-K, micronutrients, lime, or manure, plus variable rate or variable variety seeding. Prescriptions can also be written for spray.

GK recommends zone and grid soil sampling for variable rate fertilizer and lime, and yield mapping before variable rate seeding. GK does not pull the samples, but can help you find a provider.

Rates can be set to hard breaks, such as 1,000 seed increments, or fully interpolated. The driver map can be based on zones or on single or multiple year maps.

Most mapping is turned around in 48 to 72 hours. A minimum field size applies, so ask GK when you send your fields.

No. GK does not provide soil sampling, product application, or seeding. GK writes the application maps for your equipment and can help you find equipment and service providers.
